As you would have seen on our website, we have given you Tombstone cost ranges. That is to say that the price range that your Tombstone falls into is the actual cost of designing and making all the parts of your Tombstone ONLY.
The full cost of your Tombstone installation falls into 3 main categories, these are:
Under all circumstances it is adviseable to build a foundation for your Tombstone. If a gravesite has been in place for more than 10yrs after burial, and the ground is stable you may not need a foundation , but rather safe than sorry.
In all situations a foundation is necessary and may vary from just putting in Lintels to a fully built foundation depending on how old or new the grave is. This is usually organised by the client at least two weeks before the installation of the gravestone. Ideally you might get a local builder to do it and it is reasonably inexpensive. At Granrock we can do foundations for our customers , however we use Granite and subsequintly it is more costly.
So….your first costing is THE COST OF FOUNDATIONS
The second cost is as stated earlier the design and manufacture of all parts of your Tombstone. This would include the making polishing and writing on the Tombstone. The price quoted to you an any Tombstone is for this and cost of foundation and installlation will be seperate in most instances.
So….. your second costing is for THE COST OF TOMBSTONE ITSELF
This is where the Tombstone is transported to the cemetary , and all the parts installed professionally to give you the desired result. The reason this is a seperate cost is that there are a number of factors that play a part. It would depend on the distance the cemetary is from the tombstone factory , it would also depend on the size of the tombstone and in exceptional cases how many days it would take to install the tombstone.
So your third cost is THE COST OF INSTALLATION AND TRANSPORT
